Canvas still on the artist’s easel

However advanced the technologies behind Canvas turn out to be, there is a danger that the UK becomes increasingly insular in its fusion of linear television and broadband-delivered content.

So it fell to an international member of the audience at the IPTV World Forum’s opening session to ask what the difference was between Canvas and HbbTV, the Franco-German consortium that emerged last year, but has subsequently dampened expectations.
